@backwardshatbarrister: Most people don’t lose disability because they aren’t disabled — they lose because they explain it wrong. Use these two statements to describe your limits the way Social Security evaluates work: reliability and unscheduled breaks. Just make sure what you say matches your medical records and what your doctors have documented.
1. I can not Reliably Consistently & Safely Do my Job. 2. I need unscheduled Brakes during the day.

what if I got fired for the exact reasons you listed while being on workers comp? Would I be eligible to apply for disability? Mind you, I'm still on workers comp.

they denied my husband, with bulging discs & degenerative spine issues, & told him to try a more sedentary job. even though he told them that sitting for prolonged periods also causes issues..

they don't care if you're a quadriplegic in the hospital laying in a bed. they will always deny you disability the first time around

I used to have disability from the age of 12-18. I lost it when I became my mothers caregiver and I made to much. She died when I was 19 and I had tried to get it back. No go. I've now been told since I am married my husband makes to much to even try to get it back.

I have nonalcoholic cirrhosis, chronic itp and varices,I've never made it past the beginning of the phone interview, they tell me that I dont qualify ssdi because my husband works and as far as social security i dont have enough "credits" to qualify, it's a losing game🙄

how about someone who has been on disability since birth due to a genetic disorder plus being deaf? they check every 6 months to make sure he's still disabled even 33 years later 🙄

I have a hearing with a judge coming up. Besides these two sentences you gave us, are there any other concise statements we can make? It’s hard for me to not over explain

It took a friend's mom 9 years to win her case. She lost her arm to cancer and they kept telling her she still has another.

I’m only 40 and have Ehlers Danlos, POTS, chronic pain, and “I work” for our family insurance agency, but i don’t take a paycheck anymore. Is there still an avenue to apply? I have to take 10 breaks a day IF I can get to my desk.

What if they only grant SSI because you don’t have the “credits” required to qualify for full disability?

This is just like when, as an auto insurance agent, I tell my clients “Repeat after me: IT. HIT. ME” in regards to claims of road debris. If it’s stationary it’s automatic at fault claim. If IT WAS MOVING & HIT YOU, here in CA not-at-fault Comprehensive Claim. It’s just a matter of the POV.
