It's a huge red flag to me that they stayed together for so long with someone they wouldn't marry. If the issue is time, and being married and living together, doesn't solve it, then that wasn't truly her person in the first place. Just seems like a lot of wasted time and emotional heartache for no reason.

Can we please retire the term “high value man”? It is reductive and patronizing. Women are not making life decisions solely based on whether they can secure a particular type of man. Many women prioritise autonomy, purpose, values, and fulfilment, and those choices are valid, with or without a relationship.

Disagree! Walking away from any man for any reason (at any time) is totally fine. Ladies, do not go with the scarcity mindset that “men like that are hard to find” This is why people settle and end up staying in relationships they should have left long ago. Also, you don’t need a man at all to have a great life- so do not be afraid to end it if that’s what you want to do. We don’t scare men into staying in situations they are ready to move on from…..

100% they ended it before it became toxic. When you’re that far apart, you’re going to stray it’s human nature, no one is a bad person. But this is what happens so they realized it wasn’t working and the timing wasn’t right. They were very mature and handled it in a very emotionally intelligent manner.
