I still consider my ex fiancé from over a decade ago one of the greatest humans in the world. We ended on such a sad but healthy note. Not every breakup has a villain, loving yourself (and your partner) is being able to admit when your journey together is done.

Yep 10yrs and we realized over those years we grew up. Learned so much from each other. Supported each other. But that growth meant what we thought was no more and it was not fair to force what isn’t meant. We still share custody of a dog and are friends hahaha

I got to go to my ex’s wedding this year in the most beautiful way. We will forever love and care for each other, but we realized we were better as friends 🥰 I think if they hadn’t moved multiple states away, it would’ve been much harder to let go. The distance was heartbreaking and so necessary.

Even if you love someone, it can sometimes gets to a point where they start not being to handle you and that is okay because they’re weren’t meant to. And when you find the people that can and do, you’ll realize that you weren’t too much, you were just enough. You can’t be perfect for everyone.

I ugly cried. We kissed goodbye that way and he hugged my mom and said, “I love your daughter.” I’ve never experienced this kind of breakup before and it hurt so bad. Sometimes things just don’t workout but the love never ends. It’s been 8 years and I still think about him. Girl I’m crying again.

My ex and I met when he was still figuring himself out, while I was already more grounded. For two years he truly tried his best, but he didn’t feel confident in himself, and a healthy relationship that lasts needs two solid foundations. We chose to walk away with love (even dragged out the breakup since it was so difficult). When we met up a year later, the care was still there, but so was the reality that he has more growing to do. It wasn't sad though because there's no attachment there, just love as we were each other's first loves. Being “not ready” doesn’t always mean lack of love, sometimes it really is about timing, growth, and self-work. And that’s what black-and-white thinkers miss.
