my 2nd gen and 3rd gen is simple. i can get my filter off my 2nd gen just as easy with intake elbow on or off. 3rd gen i gotta take the intake tube out but ive never spilt any new or used. is this just a 6.7 thing?

See my 5g that lost some parts magically if I pull the turbo intake pipe off I can get right to the oil filter with lots of room.

I just lay under my 3rd gen to get it out, or if I don’t feel like laying on the ground I just take my air box out. No need for a special tool

lay on the floor go up past the ac compressor with a filter socket and extension loosen the filter then poke a hole in the filter with a long screwdriver you ground into a point let it drain then reach up and spin it out by hand with a rag
