The management of all this water, from mountain to Sound is insanely complex, and even the best models for predicting the effects of hold/release are inadequate. There are just too many factors, too many unknowns, and the scale of it all is too huge -- volume of water, cfs (flow), dynamics, multiple tributaries, surprise obstructions, even tidal conditions, and more. It's a crazy multi-watershed puzzle.

And I forgot to mention, fluctations in temperature that affect whether huge volumes of H2O on Rainier are either static solid snow/ice, or moving liquid/water in rivers. Hydrology on this scale is insanely complex and dynamic. Prayer may be a worthwhile response in such a multi-variable mystery, chat. 🤷🏼♀️
