Me Again :
THIS WAS ME!! Oh my gosh I might be famous because this is going to heal you. Stretch your psoas!! It connects your lower back to your femur and gets tight from sitting. Lay on a foam roller with it down near your tailbone, let one leg stretch straight forward with the other leg knee bent upwards and outwards. You will feel it stretch deep in your groin. I hold each side for 60 seconds and immediately feel lower back relief after this. And as for the piriformis syndrome I had that too after a slip and fall on my right hip. You need to STOP stretching the piriformis and instead STRENGTHEN in. But it will get WORSE for a few days after you work it out while the muscle is sore and rebuilding. BUT STICK WITH IT I PROMISE!! I do clamshell exercises but start with very low reps because it will hurt so bad the next day you’ll think I steered you wrong. But be consistent

I’m a PT and highly recommend you see a PT before any injections, chiro, etc.! Please don’t jump to surgery before doing so. I’m in Southern CA!

Physical therapy!! Saw a chiro with temporary relief. Physical therapy helped with my piriformis syndrome & sciatica tremendously. Lots of proper exercises and things like figure 4 stretches among other things.

Going to PT! Chiropractor can help and massage can help but physical therapy will help you retrain your muscles and relieve pain

I had piriformis syndrome so bad I couldn’t use stairs a few years ago. Weirdly enough daily hamstring stretches help me so much.

I’m a chiro in west Denver ! The physical therapist in my office have had cases of piriformis syndrome completely resolve in 6 weeks after years of pain by co-managing on a weekly schedule. Look for a pelvic floor PT !

I’m a Neurosurgical PA! There are things you can try before surgery- can attempt a SI joint injection, nerve root ablation and Physical therapy. I’d look around in your area for a spine/pain/neurosurgery clinic that can do injections and start seeing someone there to work on a plan!

PT before chiropractor. Chiro is for short term.. PT is for long term and then they can help guide you to the next direction of why there doing isn’t helping like seeing a dr, injections, etc

My husband is having a discectomy on the 26th push your drs for an MRI you might have a disc in your back that is degenerating and pressing on your spine. You’ll know you have a disc issue if the pain goes away when you are hanging from a pull up bar

Have you been scanned for a herniated disc? Can't help with recs because I live in New Zealand 🙈 but I spent a couple years being "treated" for sciatica with no relief and went to a physio who diagnosed it as a herniated disc, gave me different stretches and different massage to prior treatment and it's improved dramatically!
Dr Kristie Ennis has some great stretches on YouTube
