@knowledgeforcreating: VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. When you switch it on, your device creates an encrypted “tunnel” to a VPN server somewhere on the internet. All your traffic goes through that tunnel first, instead of directly to websites. Your internet provider can still see that you’re connected to a VPN, but it can’t easily see which sites you visit or what data you send – it just sees scrambled, encrypted traffic going to one server. From the outside, websites see the VPN server’s IP address, not yours. That can help with privacy, or with looking like you’re in a different country. But here’s the catch: you’re now trusting the VPN company instead of your internet provider. They could see your traffic at their end, depending on how they’re set up and what they log. So, a VPN can improve privacy on public Wi-Fi and hide your activity from local networks, but it’s not magic invisibility. It’s only as trustworthy and secure as the VPN service you choose.#vpn #technology #cybersecurity
