1 holy red flag of a boyfriend. 2 I don’t follow the Christian god but if someone said “he’s with god now” I would agree because in that moment they need comfort and you don’t need to believe what they believe to just be a nice person

Remember, having your beliefs while ALSO being respectful of other people’s beliefs is 100% possible, as OP’s family has been able to do despite push back from more conservative Christians.

I’m atheist, but I think it’s counterproductive to grow resentment to religion as a whole. Believe in it or not, religion creates culture and community for people. You can judge if it’s harmful and destructive to others, but you can’t judge it as a whole as if it’s all bad
