I have CI and HA- I go through metal detectors all the time and never had any issues with it.

if u call cochlear American they will email u a copy of the card ( I have cochlear and they wear more than willing to email me a copy of it

I have a cochlear implant. I keep my cochlear implant on and went through the metal detector just fine. It don't beep or anything

Oh wow, i’ve actually never thought about this and have never had any issues with my son’s CIs and TSA/metal detectors, and we fly all the time. I’m definitely going to look into this.

I lost mine for Gabriel as well. I asked for the Dr to write a note with a signature stating hers deaf, has an implant, and can’t go through. Saved us for events as well. ❤

My mum has a cochlear, once she told them she couldn’t go through and the man said “no excuses, go through.” (To be fair this was in Africa which is less developed than other countries and maybe didn’t have as much awareness but still CMON MAN)

I personally have always avoided them however I believe that the newer models are able to go through due to the type of material they are created with. This is now a personal preference for those that don’t go through due to risk of fear (misconceptions were going around about electrode failure.) I still avoid them.
