This is why I do what I do ❤️ I get so many messages from people telling me what my words, posts and music mean to them. I rarely share them. People trust me with some of the hardest parts of their lives, and I take that seriously. This was left as a comment, and it touched me so much that I asked if I could share it. They said yes ❤️ Someone listened to the stories behind my songs and recognised things they’d been carrying for years. The pain. The anger. Being awake at stupid o’clock with a head that won’t give you five bloody minutes. They felt less alone. They found words for things they’d struggled to explain. Then I read the bit where they said they’re happy they’re still here. That got me. Properly. Some of those stories have been bloody hard to tell. There’s a lot of my life in those words. Knowing they’ve helped someone understand their own life a little better means more than I can explain. To the person who wrote this, thank you for trusting me and letting me share this. Please give yourself some credit too. You’re the one taking those steps forward, even with painful days still in the mix. I’m so bloody glad you’re here. ❤️ This is what I hope for when I put something personal out there. Someone sitting alone, thinking nobody could possibly understand what’s going on in their head, hearing something and going, “Fuck. Somebody else gets it.” I know how much it can mean to finally feel understood. That’s why I talk about the difficult stuff. That’s why I put my life into words and music.
