@billmaeda: Dumbbell Staggered Deadlift - age 57, December 10, 2025, 11:13 am ⚠️CAUTION: THIS VIDEO IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. THE ACTION(S) SHOWN CAN BE DANGEROUS OR FATAL. PLEASE VIEW WITH DISCRETION. If you want the benefits of adding rotation to your strength training, just start doing your regular exercises with one arm instead of two. As soon as you do that, the loaded side is constantly pulling you in its direction, forcing you to constantly resist being bent and twisted. Any movements your pelvis makes in relation to the ribcage involve some kind of bending and twisting of the spine, so many of the muscles that generate and resist those movements reside in your midsection. The dumbbell staggered deadlift will effectively strengthen those muscles, but here are more reasons why I like it: -Because you start in a Sumo stance but step back with one leg, there’s lots of space to lift a large dumbbell from a strong and safe position. -You can practice lifting heavy weights by pushing down hard with the ball of the rear foot, strengthening the connection of the feet and calves to the rest of the movement. -The low slung dumbbell forces you into a deeper squat but the wide stance and the high rear foot allow to use your inner thigh muscles to go up and down. -I also practice refining the relationship between my breathing, my posture, and my grip. The only thing I focus on when I do this is my breathing cadence, and if that goes well, so does everything else. Thank you for being here Aloha

I love this variation but would suggest both feet remain flat on the floor
