“A toxic narcissist who had to have it all his way” A “controlling and manipulative” man has been jailed for murdering his boyfriend hours after he said he wanted to end the relationship. Ismail Younis was found dead at the home of Imran Uddin in Hockley, northwest of Birmingham, on 20 August, three days after he disappeared. West Midlands police said Uddin’s two-year relationship with Ismail “started well, but he 35-year-old quickly changed, controlling Ismail’s clothes, appearance, and access to his mobile phone”. Uddin also mocked Ismail’s autism and regularly physically attacked him to “assert his control”, West Midlands Police said. Ismail told Uddin he wanted to leave him hours before he was killed. He had found evidence that his partner was cheating on him. On 17 August, CCTV showed how Uddin followed Ismail to Birmingham city centre, repeatedly visiting his workplace until Ismail was last seen on Uddin’s scooter heading to his address on Richmond Road. There, he strangled Ismail before stabbing him multiple times even after he was dead. After killing Ismail, Uddin caught a train from Birmingham New Street to Milton Keynes where he had family. “Uddin didn’t seem to have a care in the world as he spent the next day getting his hair cut, eyebrows threaded and a bite to eat,” police said. He was arrested in the Aylesbury area on 21 August. Uddin was found guilty of murder on Thursday and on Friday was given a life sentence and ordered to spend at least 21 years in prison. Detective Sergeant Jeanette Roberts, from our Homicide Unit, said Ismail’s life was taken by a “coercive, controlling and manipulative partner”. “Enraged that Ismail had found the strength to take back his independence and end the relationship, he manoeuvred Ismail to his death.” “By his own agreement in court, he was a toxic narcissist who had to have it all his way,” the detective added. #5news #scooter #birmingham
