No, it doesn’t work with every individual genetic but the way you just broke it up before you do that cut the top layer off, crumble it up and repack it and put it back in the dark and watch to see if the mycelium heals itself if it does you go you’re welcome if it doesn’t throw it away or whatever you’re gonna do with it I usually take mine outside. Try to get them to grow outdoors or if it’s contaminated I’ll throw it in the freezer. Let it freeze rock hard cut the contamination off, so the sports don’t spread everywhere and put it back into the dark or into fruiting and that works.
