Mondo , Melbourne CBD 🍨 Mondo is a brand new gelato spot that’s just opened in the CBD and it’s genuinely one of the best gelatos I’ve tried in Melbourne. They’re known for creative but really refined flavour combinations and interestingly use 5% less sugar than typical gelato shops while still achieving an insanely creamy texture. The owner Rio trained in Bologna at the prestigious Carpigiani Gelato University, and you can truly taste the craftsmanship. “Mondo” literally means world in Italian, which feels very fitting because every scoop tastes like a little trip somewhere special. Here’s what we tried: 🤎 Tiramisu gelato — rich, silky and absolutely nailed. One of the best tiramisu gelatos I’ve had. 💚 Pistachio — made using pistachios imported from Sicily and it honestly tasted exactly like being back there. Easily one of the most authentic pistachio gelatos in Melbourne. 🍐 Pear, orange & elderflower sorbet — super fresh and light, perfect for a hot night. 🍊 Cassis calamansi sorbet — beautifully tangy with a great balance of sweet and sharp. 🥭 Mango passionfruit sorbet — bright, juicy and elite. 🍪 They also make fresh cookies, an incredible house tiramisu and you HAVE to try the Mondo No.4 drink (oat, chai + cacao nibs).
