Do you have any of these? 5/7 you’re having an ego dealth. Which is a great thing BTW as this is required before a BIG quantum jump, but also deeply painful and humbling. 7 bizarre things people do during an ego death that feel smart but are actually fear trying to keep their old identity alive: 1️⃣ Obsessively researching your next move instead of making one. > Your brain is wired to seek certainty. Research creates the feeling of progress while protecting you from the vulnerability of taking action. 2️⃣ Constantly asking other people what they think. > When your identity is shifting, your internal compass can feel temporarily unavailable. Looking outside yourself reduces anxiety, but it can also drown out your own wisdom. 3️⃣ Suddenly becoming fascinated with everyone else's journey while neglecting your own. > Your brain loves distraction when change feels threatening. It's easier to analyze someone else's life than risk becoming a new version of yourself. 4️⃣ Convincing yourself you need to learn more, get more clarity, figure it out, before you begin. > Learning releases dopamine, which makes it feel productive. But at a certain point, more information becomes a socially acceptable way to avoid being seen. 5️⃣ Hyper-focusing on tiny details while avoiding the one decision that would actually change your life. > This is a classic psychological defense mechanism. The brain redirects your attention toward manageable problems when the real issue feels emotionally risky. 6️⃣ Romanticizing your old life. > Even if your old identity was exhausting, limiting, or unfulfilling, it was familiar. The brain almost always prefers familiar discomfort over unfamiliar possibility. 7️⃣ Feeling an intense urge to go backwards. Calling the ex. Taking the safer path. Settling for less. Repeating old patterns. > When uncertainty rises, the brain instinctively searches for what it already knows. Familiar doesn't mean aligned—it simply means predictable. An ego death isn't your life falling apart. It's your brain trying to make sense of a version of you it has never met before. The weird part? The closer you get to your next level, the more logical your excuses sound. ✅ IF THIS IS YOU immediately go listen to my ego death podcast episode that is out now on ProjectME with Tiffany Carter {access in B!0} #egodeath #quantumjumping ##quantumleap #identityshift #womenownedbusiness
