@traveltomtom: Honored I was among the first people to visit the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site in the world In the desert of Sharjah, I explored Faya, a landscape shaped by tectonic collisions, limestone formations, and layers of sediment that read like pages of a history book. Caves. Ridges. Ancient stone tools. A palaeolandscape that preserves more than 210,000 years of human presence. Here in Faya is where early hunters adapted, survived, and eventually began shaping settled life. Where stratigraphy reveals how humans and nature evolved together over millennia. Faya has now officially been recognized for its Outstanding Universal Value and has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, a cultural landscape that belongs not just to Sharjah or the UAE, but to all of humanity. I had the privilege of attending the official UNESCO World Heritage inscription ceremony, held right here in the desert where this history began. To witness UNESCO formally present the inscription on-site, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha @bodouralqasimi , alongside diplomats and senior UNESCO representatives from around the world, was incredibly powerful. It was my first time attending an event of this level, and it made me reflect. What many people still see as “just posting photos and videos” is actually years of trust, consistency, and storytelling. That influence is what led to this invitation. I’m genuinely grateful to Faya for believing in me and in the Traveltomtom brand, and for welcoming me to be part of such a historic moment. I’m proud to have witnessed the inscription of this new UNESCO World Heritage Site and I take the responsibility seriously to help share its story with the world. Grateful for the trust.
