Conversely, when I was about the same age, I overheard my favourite teacher talking about her disgust at gay people (soon after a new gay headteacher had been appointed to the school). I can testify that those comments never left me and had a lasting impact. Hooray for Suzie Blake. (I’m about 10 years older than RT).
