In March 2017, 17-year-old Jacob Ohl from Lilburn, Georgia was struck by a CSX train while walking near railroad tracks with earbuds in, which prevented him from hearing the train approaching. The accident severed both of his legs below the knees. Despite his severe injuries, Ohl calmly called 911 to report the accident. Paramedics applied tourniquets that likely saved his life, and he survived the crash. Later that year, he filed a lawsuit against CSX and the train’s operators, claiming negligence including failure to sound adequate warnings and lack of safety measures around the tracks.

I feel so sorry for this kid! He did a great job staying calm with 911. But he definitely should not win that lawsuit because he was trespassing!! I have heard of many people dying this way walking on tracks with earbuds in. Please don’t do it!!!
