Usually when I watch your videos it’s like watching myself be kind an understanding to myself. It’s as if I’m giving myself space to answer questions I already know the answer too but maybe get too heightened emotionally to let myself really go all the way through the process. Usually I feel comforted but The new music makes me feel stupid. lol what does that say about me?

Great insights. Your content always connects me with the highest ideals I hold for myself. I noticed a change in my emotional response with the different music. Your words always resonate, but I noticed I had to narrow my focus to your words more with the new song. The usual music you use allows me to sink in to what you’re saying easier. I think it’s because when I hear something that connects with my own experience, it puts me in a state where I romanticize my life, my story, my struggles. And in that state of emotional openness, words of wisdom connect at a deeper level. The new music felt a bit abrasive to tha whole process for me

“What’s the kindest story I can tell myself about this” has been something I’ve been working on for the last year and it’s been so rewarding. Thank you for sharing 💕💕

Hey so I was in pilates yesterday and they played the song that's usually in the background of your videos and all the lessons from them brought a lovely wave of emotions while trying to focus on my workout 😅

It honestly had nothing to do with you or what you were saying, I just literally could not focus? The new music was so jarring and felt so disconnected from what your words make me feel that I had to scroll which NEVER happens.

You've trained your brain to "hey dude" yourself in real time. That's powerful stuff. Love to see it. 🥰

I think for me, the Space Song just hits a different emotional tone off the rip. It has a certain sound that's a bit somber which causes me to lock into the message and feels very on brand for your content. The Habanera song has also been used it other content aside from yours that just makes my mind wander to the other places that I have heard that song.
I do think exploring song options is great as different ones can really help with tones of your messages and gain variety.

I love Carmen. The music landed well with me. It had no negative impact on my ability to enjoy the story. Maybe maybe maybe just a tiny wee bit too loud sometimes.

Beach House’s music works incredibly well with your content, and I certainly missed hearing it, but at no point did I ever feel that it compromised your message, and that truly is what has always resonated with me.

I actually love the song, my issue was that it was too loud and I felt I couldn’t really hear you and your thoughts over the music, which made it more difficult to focus on your message. The music is lovely though…

I love the new music - it give the video a feeling like we’re being curious and playful to find answers. I liked the previous music, but sometimes it made me feel emotional/sad, and therefore the videos felt a bit heavy to watch. So yeah, new music = we’re playing fun emotion detectives 💖

To answer your questions, your content asks us to be vulnerable and look within, using the same song repeatedly (especially with such melancholy attached to it) creates an anchor that soothes the brain and makes it feel more safe. Watching the changed version made me uneasy, less prone to allow myself to be vulnerable and introspective. But once that feeling settled I was too distracted by the upbeat tempo to really listen to you. I feel if you were to look for a copyright free music a rendition of the moonlight sonata would be a good start if you don’t mind the suggestion. Love your content, can’t wait to see what’s next!

I like a variety of music, please continue to explore and experiment with different styles. My only suggestion is to maybe turn the volume down a notch.

All in all: No to the music, it doesn’t fit— yes to the message 💗 My final two cents is it isn’t worth putting music that doesn’t match the comforting vibe/ essence of you and your message (Keep searching for something that fits as my impression is it makes or breaks the video)— unfortunately it takes away from the message hugely and unnecessarily 💗 but it’s okay we learn and we grow 😊

The challenge I have with Carmen is that it reminds me of themes of infidelity, and that gives my reflection on your piece a direction I’d rather not pursue. But I’d frankly be surprised if anyone else responds to Bizet that way.

The new song landed a bit off?! To me it felt as if the pacing of the insights were more offbeat. I understand you were experimenting and good for you. The “original” song was a constant that was almost expected because it felt like it gently grabbed us by the hand and took us to DUDE to learn from them.

the other music is nice because it kind of builds up or grows as you tell the story, is a parallel story in my opinion, the new music is ok but doesn't accompany your dialogue which are super cool by the way. "hey dude..." and I'm listening!

wow amazing to see that you took it so constructively. you do practice what you preach! anyway your earlier music was so uplifting and somehow it kinda synced with your epiphanies making your message even more powerful. the new music doesn't have this quality.
