@chrisgeorgept: How to stop this common issue 👇👇👇 When you first get a prosthetic, it’s not unusual to swing the leg out to the side between each stride. This can be caused by an issue with technique, but more often it’s caused by underdeveloped abductor muscles. This muscle group is essential for pelvic and hip control. You need to strengthen these muscles in order to assist with a correct leg swing (forwards and backwards motion). Exercises such as the fire hydrant, side lying leg raises and clam shells are all great for targeting these muscles. You can add bands for some extra resistance and they can easily be performed at home.

I use the hip abduction and adduction machine with my prothstetic on. heavy weight and push on my prothstetic with my hand so I can take just enough pressure off for it to be comfortable
