80's baby here & I just laugh when other women imply I'm too old to wear off the shoulder tops, since the younger generation is now doing it. PLEASE, my generation invented it! (I also hate anything around my neck but that's besides the point!)

No. I graduated in 89, same year as stranger things kids! What you do is cut the ribbed neck bit off. Right below the stitching. Like someone said earlier. Give it a good stretching out. Now if you want it really loose, after washing don’t dry it. Let it air dry and before it’s completely dry, give it another slight stretch.
