@millersbrand: Making the mask dress pt. 1 Made this dress out of 228 surgical masks that I picked up off the streets back in 2021 but thought it deserved some space on this app ♻️ EDIT: Ok, y’all clearly have a lot of opinions about this 😂 Yes I picked these up off the street in Madrid. I used gloves, put them in plastic bags, and sanitized the shit out of them before cleaning them. The really dirty ones I just put in the trash. A lot of them had clearly never been used or were extras that my teacher friend had from her school. This was just to create art and wear it once to film it. I noticed there were masks everywhere, all over the streets so I wanted to recycle them into something beautiful. I never put anyone in danger of getting sick nor did I get COVID from this project. Honestly, this dress is probably cleaner than the chemical ridden clothes you buy from fast fashion stores. For those who find this disgusting or uncomfortable: she made a dress from masks that people used and threw on the ground. What’s truly disgusting is the lack of common sense to put trash in a bin. And honestly, with the amount of masks on the streets, she could probably make an entire clothing collection.
