Sparkling water in a fancy glass works well if you don't want to drint too many sodas! I did that at a wedding and it worked well

a good one that always worked for me (not pregnancy related, just always poorly) was to say i’m on antibiotics!! especially with cold and flu season, antibiotics are a perfect excuse

Tip 6. Hoewer you see they shall respect that you don't drink so just say "I don't want to drink today" and let that be the end of story 🥰

when my mum was pregnant and still going for nights out with my dad and her friends her trick was to only get a drink when it was her or dad's turn to get the round so she'd just ask dad for a vodka cranberry in front of everyone so dad would know just to get her a cranberry, partner that with the 'im going to see people tomorrow so can't get too messy' excuse and no one ever asked any questions!

Feet and places :
I feel that hoasts mostly want you to take a drink because otherwise they feel like they are failing at their responsibility to make you comfortable. That's why I avoid saying that I don't want a drink, but I say what I want instead and try to make sure they have it. For example: "do you want a gin tonic?", "just tonic please" - hosts don't have to scramble to accommodate you and, as op said, no one knows it is not alcoholic.

i don’t drink so didn’t have to do this but i have done this before when i used to drink when i couldn’t be bothered drinking and didn’t want people moaning 😂

I have an autoimmune disease and suffered a cardiac arrest after the gp messed up my meds and ended up in withdrawal. Stupid Ik but since then when I drink my heart rate spikes to 170 and becomes eratic. Now I don’t drink. Which is funny cuz I’m a barmaid and have been for the last 5 years 😂
