I was like that. People are always going around telling you to just “get over it” and “just think positively” in order to actually heal and love ourselves and that will somehow fix all our problems but thats just not true. A lot of people don’t actually know how to heal or what that even means really. According to psychology it all comes from the core beliefs that you formed as a child that to keep yourself safe that haunt you in your adult life. So you have to learn to regulate your nervous system. unlearning your old, toxic belief system and re-learning a new, healthy belief system. re-parenting yourself. building a healthy relationship with yourself by treating yourself like a good friend or a good parent would do. In other words…sitting with yourself and choosing your piece over anyone else's. Only you have the power to change your life and your belief system. Doomscrolling and wishing that time will fix everything won’t do it. If you want to learn all this right now and to heal properly, I strongly suggest reading a book called Healing Isn’t Pretty by Mira Hartson asap. One of the best transformative guides available right now .
