I know how to say “Good afternoon, $15 in Echo please.” But…. Every single time the gasoline attendant walks up to me in Ecuador…. I’m like, uhhhhhhhh? The I can say it 😂😭 At least I don’t freeze on the “No factura por favor, buen dia.”

My brother was trying to ask for more water and he had it and then the person came and he goes más water por favor jaja he was brave for trying though I feel this way too sometimes it’s always so weird to be the one starting to talk in Spanish but they’re always so nice and appreciative the effort!

Spanish was my first language, but my dad made sure we spoke mainly English in our house once he got married to my step mom (unless I was in trouble😅), so I lost a lot of it. I only spoke Spanish when I was with my Abuela. I can still understand most of it and can speak well, but I definitely get nervous because I don’t want to sound stupid😂
