@patry.ruiz: 🤷🏼♀️The struggle is real Australia, any tips? 😅 🇦🇺 Luckily that sandwich was worth it, it hit harder than my mum’s chancla 🔥 #australia #learnenglish #comedy #accents #english
I've been living in Spain, Valencia, for the last 17 years, my husband is Spanish, his family from Albacete, so I thought my Spanish is almost fluent 🤣
till I spoke to someone from Canary Island and other one from Cadiz. nope. 😂😂

You must have bumped into the easy-to-understand Scottish back in the UK. Like Edinburgh or something. Glesga is a different kettle of fish and I commend you if you didn’t struggle to understand Glaswegians.

Mi inglés nunca ha sido muy bueno, pero la primera vez que fui a trabajar al Reino Unido pensaba que me podía defender. Me pusieron a trabajar mano mano con una chica de Gales, a la que no entendía ni una palabra. (What a letdown!). Al cabo de unos días mis jefes, británicos, me preguntaron: "How is it going with Lorraine?" Yo puse cara de póker. Me dijeron: "Don't worry if you can't understanding her. No one of us can"

😂😂 I am a brazilian living in Tasmania. My husband was born and raised in Queensland, my mother-in-law is from Victoria. I do understand them fairly well. I have had conversations with other people here too. Locals. It was fine. But I remember this one person, this one person. I asked my husband: "what language is she speaking?". He was like: "English". I didnt even recognize the language 😂🤭

I learned English at 4 years old and have been fluent since. I have lived in the UK for 16 years, previously also lived in the USA. Some English accents are a complete nightmare for me but somehow I understand the Scots and Australians completely 😂

I guess he just needed your name. I experienced the same when I ordered a HotDog at a takeaway somewhere around Brisbane. I did not understand the question so the first time I replied "Tomato Ketchup?" because that could be a possible question. Until after the third or more repeats from him I finally understood that he just needed my name to call me out when the HotDog is ready to be picked up.
I also made the experience the other way around when I ordered a RedBack beer in a pub: The bartender only understood me when I said "reba" instead of RedBack 😁 Have good time in Australia!
