@vt.physics: Do NOT Try This at Home: The Risks of Acetylene Experiments! 🔥 This video breaks down what is actually happening in a viral acetylene experiment. Acetylene is an extremely flammable gas used in welding and metal cutting. When it is ignited, the gas burns rapidly and creates a sudden pressure spike, which is why the container pops. In underwater versions, the explosion is followed by an implosion because the surrounding water removes heat almost instantly. As the hot gas cools and collapses, the water rushes back in. Visually interesting but unpredictable and dangerous. Not something to try yourself! #science #chemistry #physics #learning #education
