That’s the difference between civilian and military civilian shoots first ask questions later. Military has to be fired upon before they can shoot back. This officer emptied a clip into this guy with no weapon visible.

Cop was thrown into a horrible situation. The caller falsely reported a firearm and the now deceased person failed to comply with the orders being given. WITHOUT the benefit of hindsight and finding out there wasn’t a gun, was the force objectively reasonable to stop what the officer believed to be an imminent (not immediate, imminent) threat? I’d say yes, although it’s terribly tragic. The caller is more responsible than the deceased though, as the incident itself wouldn’t have occurred at all without the false report. A criminal charge for false report of a crime plus a lawsuit against the caller and establishment would be in order, based solely on the information here.
