My brother in law is brilliant, insanely musically gifted, charismatic, and an acid trip switched on severe schizophrenia for him. Absolutely horrible and debilitating. He'll never be able to safely live independently again. Heartbreaking.

I worked in psych and what you’re saying is 1000% true. It’s sad how lucky some people can be and others it just takes one chance, and their mind is gone forever.

My brother went on a trip like that. He was ‘out of town’ for almost 8 months and miraculously made it back. Scariest time of my life witnessing that, tbh.

When I was in college I was going to try L$D. Planned it for weeks. Right before buying, I fell and hit my head so badly that I had to be carried. The person I was with refused to let me go through with it, he was adamant that my head injury made it too dangerous. I thought he was overreacted. I was furious at him. Now, wherever he is, I just hope he knows how grateful I am. He could have very well saved my life!
