@seafoodtalk: Invasive Armored Catfish Removal - Restoring River Ecology at 3AM This river has reached a breaking point. Armored catfish, an invasive species also known as plecos, have completely taken over the ecosystem. Today, we launched a real overnight removal operation using fish traps to protect native fish and restore ecological balance. Armored catfish are extremely destructive. They feed on fish eggs and fry, reproduce rapidly, and have almost no natural predators because of their rock-hard armor. Just like invasive species problems seen in Florida waterways and parts of Texas, once they spread, native fish populations collapse fast. We set six traps during the day and returned at 3 a.m., when armored catfish are most active. What we found was shocking. Trap after trap was packed with nothing but armored catfish. In just one night, we removed around 50 of them. Native fish were almost completely gone, showing how badly this river has been damaged. This video isn't just about fishing - it's about environmental protection, invasive species awareness, and real hands-on conservation. You'll see how effective trapping works, why these fish are so hard to eliminate, and how serious the problem has become. If you care about wildlife protection, river ecosystems, and real-world environmental action, this is a must-watch. Quiet viewers who still like, comment, share, repost, and follow - you're the real heroes. Tell me in the comments: how do people handle invasive armored catfish where you live in the U.S. or elsewhere? I'll keep coming back until this river gets its balance back. #LearnOnTikTok #invasivespecies #fishinglife #environmentalprotection #plecostomus

In Malaysia we use casting nets. 10-20kg in one cast, 1 ton in 4-6 hours depending on location. We work in groups to clean the rivers here.
