i went through an autism asessment last year, although i have so many autistic traits i wasnt diagnosed but instead flagged up for adhd i now have been assessed for adhd and been diagnosed. it has been the most intense year. ive learnt so much about myself, including the fact they suspect i have ocd. but been told its near impossible to be diagnosed for ocd.

I got diagnosed at 32 through Right to Choose Psychiatry UK with the NHS. And it was the best thing I did, I feel more at peace knowing how my brain works and why I’ve suffered for so long.

Did you go private? I started seeing a private counsellor due to burnout and she said in her experience she’s 99% sure I’m autistic. I’ve been on the NHS waiting list since March 2022, still awaiting a diagnosis. Do you have any advice for people still awaiting a diagnosis feeling a bit like I’m stuck in limbo not knowing for sure

I think I’m def AuDHD bit don’t see how a label will help as an adult as there’s not really a lot of support for it if you appear to be normal ish on the surface!
