I've seen people straight up say that mentions of Bar/Bat Mitzvahs in media is israeli propaganda—which is insane because not only is it not propaganda, it's not even inherently israeli because its a RELIGIOUS thing

the issue is MOST Israeli people agree with their governments actions. it's not anti-semitic to shift some blame to the people being complicit. like you said, one of the goals of Israel is to conflate anti-semitism & anti-zionism. also I think conflating what we're seeing with the same "dangerous rhetoric" you're talking about is disingenuous, the people committing these crimes are far past those in support of Gaza slipping down a rabbit hole. also I don't really know anything about Anna, (and don't take this as "Jews rule the world") but if you look at our government it's clear there's an overwhelming amount of support for Israel proportional to Israeli/Jewish people in America

Can we also talk abt the normalization and trending use of hateful antisemitism language on this app?? Like I’ve seen WAYYY too many people get far too comfortable using these phrases openly. It might be a joke NOW to some but it always starts small

So real. This is what happens when a sentiment/idea becomes more popular to the public. The general population has an easy time scapegoating and generalizing, which makes complex issues like the Israel ≠ Judaism distinction (not inherently complex but more nuanced than the average person likes to think about) way too simplified, allowing people to essentially “pick a side” when in reality that isn’t how it works.
