As a man, I’d rather *not* be seated by two unaccompanied minors for myriad reasons, but if I paid for a seat in a specific part of the aircraft, and this happened, I would be seeking monetary reimbursement

As a woman, if I'm sitting next to unaccompanied children, I'd ask to be moved. You know the airline would expect you to entertain/look after them in an emergency because of "maternal instinct". Which I don't possess.

If you go by statistics you would need to separate minors from relatives in every flight, because when a minor gets sexually assaulted it’s most likely by someone they know. So a minor would, statistically, be way more safe next to a random man, than a relative.

let's just say there's a reason parents always tell their kids to ask a woman for help if they get lost. that statistic given sounds wrong but I know the actual statistics also support the conclusion.

Why didn’t the airline, knowing the unaccompanied minors were to be on the flight, just seat them according to their own strict policy, instead of drawing attention to the innocent male passenger. ??

As a male who often flies alone, and a father of five, children’s safety always comes first. If it had been myself in the position, I’d not have had an issue. But, in a conciliatory gesture, the airline had best come up with some decent compensation for the person moved. If I pay extra for a seat and I’m denied that seat, I’d best be compensated somehow. Again, children’s safety come first. Get over it.

In our country there is a term “fair discrimination” noting there are times you need to make a call on superficial characteristics. But how you do it to be just and equitable. Respectful etc is still important. In this case failing to plan and seeing it coming in the normal SOP is probably the biggest issue. They could have gotten ahead of it in so many ways without a public display or embarrassment
