I’m a single 34 year old woman. Own my home, have a relatively successful career. One of my good friends is an 83 year old woman, we go sea swimming together. She never married (chose her career over marriage as you had to leave the workforce in the 1960s Ireland). Her only regret is that she never had a child. But then, the stories she tells me are of a life very well lived. She has busier life than me too, yoga, aqua aerobics, volunteering, being on boards etc. I genuinely love that woman. Funnily, most of my friends right now are 10+ years older than me, because friends my own age are mostly coupled and infantilise me because I’m not lol

I have a friend who lives in Paris and I noticed her friend group consisted of women 10, 15+ years older than her. She said it was normal there and I loved it. I wish that was the norm in the USA. Yes, I think younger women would see and consider their futures differently.
