Old Norse didn’t have a word for religion. There is no requirement, you don’t have to do anything, it is a way of life. This idea of having to do something or earning something in order to be part of Norse Paganism is from Christian influence.

The gods don't care either way. Believe as you will and honour as you will, but the old gods require no relic or tradition, simply that those of us who follow them do so with honour, in my opinion

grew up ,meeting the guy who kept Ásatru alive in Iceland (Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson), in the market. small Icelandic town, he was happy telling us kids every thing we wanted to know. One of the things he told us was you dont need anything to honour the gods, just talk to to them. know alot of ppl that practice Ásatrú, one good friend is a Goði in my area, never heard that mjölnir needs to be gifted 🤔
