I work in a nursing home, and have a resident with a pretty serious TBI. When I first got there, she was on a feeding tube, incontinent, and couldn't speak. She now feeds herself, uses the toilet, can walk if balanced, and three days ago, she suddenly started speaking again, in full sentences, with no issues. It's crazy how the brain can heal with the right help. Any progress is good, even if some will never get back to 100%, it's still incredible to see the brain and body heal at all after such harsh things. It always takes time, which can be the hard part, but it's still wonderful to watch.
