the problem isnt really the payment, its the loan term. $750/month for 36-48 months would be reasonable. but $750/month for almost 70 months is insane.

as a person who owns a dealership I sell it slightly above what I paid for the vehicle like say wholesale price which is what I get a lot of my vehicles at let's say it's a fully loaded Toyota Camry wholesale price is $34,000 I will sell it for $39,000 I don't really need to make money selling a vehicle I make billions of dollars a year through rental properties commercial buildings hotels restaurants wedding venues the company the law firm so I don't really lose money when I am selling a vehicle that's not my only source of income in fact if you're older couple so 68 years or older you will get a discount of usually about $5,000 off the vehicle now we also have a lot of other sales and programs and sometimes I'll even sell you the vehicle at wholesale price because why not and I'm not worried about my employees because they started out making $65 an hour we don't hound you into buying a vehicle you can either buy the vehicle or not we don't really care either way my employees are still making plenty of money to survive but I remember this older couple they were upside down in a piece of shit BMW now I will not put a BMW on my used car lot that's one of many brands that I will not do I will put that vehicle on the auction block and I will sell it as is and no negotiating the price that is set is the price that you can pay was usually it's about $26,000 depending on the mileage because I want nothing to fucking do with that vehicle but they came in to Mercedes his wife had been wanting a G-Wagon and they're BMW kept breaking down I looked at their loan and realized that they were $60,000 upside down in this 2020 BMW X5 so I said to them I'll give you $100,000 for this BMW X5 it was the m model but not like the top tier m models and I will typically put the X5 the minimum bid at $55,000 if it's an m car because typically people will bid the fuck out of that car especially since this car had 12,000 original miles I also gave them another $20,000 off because of their age and they got a brand new 2024 Mercedes AMG g wagon for $80,000 is what I ended up giving it to them for and that's what they finance because I felt bad and they have become a loyal
