First, they need the staff (RNs) to take care of the patients. Flow cannot improve without workers

If they wanted to accommodate the large patient flow they could hire enough staff to fill the current rooms they have and the staff to open 7 south again (31 acute care beds). Pretty sure it’s been closed since Covid.

My dad was went there for emergency heart surgery and all the nurses were rude to my mom and me and my brother even though we were in the lobby like we were supposed to they were really rude and disrespectful to my mom

Send them to Vanderbilt and they can show them how to keep the flow going. I’m not bashing UT, but have been to both and Vandy just has a better flow into the Emergncy department . And getting a floor bed .

I'm a patient transporter for the Emergency Department at UT, the big I don't like about is that there isn't enough equipment, especially wheelchairs. And the pay could be a lot better too.

Their er is the WORST. Do yourself a favor and go to Fort Sanders. They'll have you back within 10 minutes compared to 8 hours.

Motherly Advice :
Well let’s see last time I took my husband about 18 months ago, there were patients sitting on the curb with rolling IVs . 15 hour wait. It looked like land of the zombies.
