People’s faces changed, sometimes just a little, sometimes completely. The energy, the vibe, the way they spoke to me... everything suddenly became different. Like there was this invisible wall between us. I got tired of it. Tired of being “the trans girl” before being Stella. Tired of watching people pull away, or overcompensate, or just disappear. But that night I kept it to myself. I just was. I danced, I laughed, I met people who saw me for my smile, my energy, my vibe, not my gender history. It’s not that I’m ashamed of who I am. I’m proud. But I’ve learned that sometimes, I deserve to exist without explanations, without labels, without having to defend my truth before I even get to live it. That night changed everything. And for the first time in a long time, I felt free.
