I think Claudia being aged up to a teenager is the best decision the show made. I know Anne Rice had her reasons for having Claudia young, because of her daughter passing, but there’s a different heartache watching a character so close to their dream of love and adult life yet so far for eternity

anne rice truly had decades to write something from claudia’s pov but no let’s off her in book one while marius gets a whole book and lestat drinks from jesus 😭😭 i understand rehashing claudia could’ve been stirred up memories of her daughter but claudia could’ve gone in a whole new, fascinating direction. ugh her writing just becomes too self indulgent for published works imo

When I had to perform her songs (from the musical version) for class I thought about the trauma I went through and how being attacked that young makes you feel frozen. The risks of infertility under that much stress while she sings about how she can’t give birth because of “the night he clipped my wings. His lies which have denied me of passionate romance”
