It is used by the Dangme people alongside traditional drums during the singing of folklore and Klama songs, serving as an important rhythm and lead instrument in traditional Klama music and dance. The Chiefs and People of the Dangme Traditional Area of Manya Klo (Krobo) have successfully launched the 133rd edition of the prestigious Manya Klo (Krobo) Ngmayem Festival with vibrant cultural fanfare at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region. This year’s celebration is under the theme: “Strengthening Our Bonds: Advancing Growth Through Heritage and Unity.” OFFICIAL FESTIVAL DATES The 2026 Manya Klo (Krobo) Ngmayem Festival will take place from: Saturday, 24th October to Sunday, 1st November 2026. The festival promises a rich display of Dangme culture, heritage, unity and community development. The celebration is expected to attract Dangme people from across Ghana and abroad, as well as tourists and culture enthusiasts eager to experience the spirit and traditions of the Dangme people of Manya Klo (Krobo). This year’s celebration is expected to be bigger and better than previous years!
