The frustrating part is that if that much work is done in one night like said then doing it as it’s assigned shouldve been no problem and also just easier for everyone 😭

In Germany you have to hand it in on time otherwise you get an F. there is no handing in late if you haven't been out sick

The audacity of students in this comment section thinking they’re owed a grade for late work. When I was in school if you didn’t turn the assignments in on time, you weren’t able to. Some teachers may have had a grace period of three days but it wasn’t three months. Also in the real world there are consequences for not completing your work on time.

an accommodation is one thing, but in my case, i say "if you communicated with me the entire way through about what and why an assignment was late, i'll grade it."

this is where you set them up for college, no professor is going to accept all that missing work and grade it. it is very unlikely that a professor will accept later work anyways. 😭

my mom's rule as a teacher was if its past due by a week without a reason or valid excuse than she isnt gonna take it, a lot of these kind of students hated her 😭

a student tried to hand me 3 extremely late assignments that looked like they were at the bottom of his bookbag the whole time and asked "Hey, what should I do with these? You want them in the turn-in tray or your desk?" I looked at them and said "Well the trash can is right there, but I'd really rather you recycle."

A parent has constantly been contacting us all year because she really wants her son to pass. I told her on the 8th that I gave him a list of makeup work. She messaged on the 16th asking again what those assignments were and how to get to them. The 16th is also when I closed the assignments, so I said whatever he had done by the end of the day I would take. Today, on our half day to release for break, she asked if he could keep working on something he halfway finished last night. I said “he can, but he won’t get credit. I already put grades in.”
