@itsmrskelly: One of my biggest flaws is my quickness to action. I’m so quick to make a righteous play, for something I feel is just or unjust. Really that’s a lot of words for saying, I’m pretty arrogant. I tend to get angry and unleash my fury on people for wronging me in anyway, it’s not beautiful to admit, but there it is. I’ve spent a lot of my life preparing for the worst, protecting myself in was that aren’t always healthy, and in that arrogance I can be cutthroat. Sometimes, when I have all the fire at my disposal, and the target seems ready and deserving, I try to remember just how much it matters to see the innocence in the situation. Sometimes, there’s more going on than I realise, and I’m not the intended victim of someone else’s actions. I’m just in the wrong place at the right time. Kindness is always worth practicing, it might feel weak in the moment, it might feel like you’re cowering from a fight, but it might just be the grace someone needed to change. This past season I walked up on a beautiful doe. she would have filled the freezer and provided clean food for my family. but she was stuck on the path between two downed trees, shaking scared and looking at me wide eyed, her only way out was towards me. i didnt feel right about it, so I just sat against a tree and we watched each other until she slowly made her way out and went in her way. its not always a kill that makes a good day hunting.

I used to be hyper vigilant, too perceptive, finding malice where there was no intent and it kept me stressed, afraid and depressed. It fed into itself and it cost me a lot mentally. I'm glad I spun out of that loop but recognizing it in others pangs me.
