✨THE MOST COMFORTING AUTHENTIC KOREAN FOOD IN LA✨ This is THEEEE MOST comforting food I have ever tried 🤌 Lee Ga in K-Town specializes in Korean soups, stews, and cold noodles, so they’re perfect for a hangover cure or winter warm up. Lee Ga has gotten rave reviews from publications like Eater LA and Forbes, and I’m so happy to say that they definitely lived up to the hype! Everything they serve here is authentic to the max — the owner said he wanted everything to be suited to Korean tastes (not American) — and I was the only white person there which is always a good sign 💀 My favorite thing here is definitely their Maeun Deung-Galbi Jjim, which is a braised beef back rib stew with squash and veggies. I got it at a level 2 spicy which was perfect for me as a spice lover (definitely hot but not so hot that it’s all you can taste), and you MUST add cheese and rice cakes for $5 each, I promise it’s worth it! Many people have said that the kimchi here just hits different, and I have to agree — both by itself in the banchan and in the hard to find Muk Eun Gi Dwaeji Galbi Jjim or kimchi stew with pork spare ribs. For soups, they specialize in collagen-high Sullang Tang or ox bone soup, but my favorite was the Wang Galbi Tang or beef short rib soup which came with delicious meat, hearty broth, and glass noodles. One of the biggest must orders here is their Neang Myun, or cold noodles. While most places in Los Angeles use premade noodles for this dish, Lee Ga imported a special machine from Korea to make the noodles fresh! I’d also highly recommend getting the Neang Myun in a discounted combo with their HUGE Mandu, or dumplings. Lee Ga is located in Koreatown and is open from 10am - 11pm every day except Tuesday.
