after watching every umamusume related type of media that is important (sorry bnw and the anni specials) I realized that cygames always learns from their mistakes. S1 was very bland but a great founding foot for the series, s2 was the strongest of the pretty derby seasons with the strongest story and ideas that were fullfilled, s3 was boring and ideas that seemed great were wasted but after these 3 seasons they didn't stop. the ova was able to deliver the emotion similar to s2 and carried alot of the positives from the other seasons to it, the movie had the strongest direction taking everything it learned from the previous series and applying it and amplying it by 3x, my biggest complaint for S3 was the lack of duramente who was hyped for so much throughout the season only to not get anything shown, Agnes tachyon was what duramente wanted to be but done correctly. and Cinderella grey which by far has the strongest story,cast,themes,etc. star blossom a new up and coming umamusume series with massive potential with a interesting story and characters, and we have other series in the making and as the franchise goes on the series will only get better and better. just believe my words

As someone who plays sports quite competitively, I find umamusume very, very, VERY relatable, especially how the umas would rise to prominence and enjoy the high tide of their lives but nothing is forever and one day they will have to fall. Injury is also depicted very nicely, showing you how much it could affect the sportsman's mental health, thought and performance due to decreased training.
