@corporategossippod: Is there a looming AI debt crisis? We dive into meta’s shit stew on this week’s patreon out later today! #meta #ai #debt #corporategossip
Most people don’t want ai. But the billionaires invested too much money in it so they’re forcing it on the world.

The good news is hopefully it wipes out all the private equity money. Private equity has been a force for evil in this country for far too long.

Translation: The label says “safe,” but the price says “risky.” Same thing seen in the housing crash from 2007 to 2009.

As someone who works in tech, I'm dreading the fallout of the bubble popping. It's going to pop, it needs to pop, but it's going to do some real damage when it does.

And the worst part, all the people who are making this crisis will be able to cash out, getting ever richer of the misery of the 99%

No, this is not The Big Short. The subprime mortgage crisis was in private, opaque markets with hard to value loans kept off the books. These are public bonds of a publicly traded company. Everything is out in the open. There is no way for the issue to fester privately like subprime mortgages did.

Contradiction = An A+ rating says “you’ll probably get paid.” (vs) a 6.5% yield says “but you’ll earn that only if you’re willing to hold this uncomfortable asset.”

Trent :
A+ is not the best rating. AAA is, then AA (which can be + or -) and then A (+ or minus). Anything below A- is considered a junk bond. An A+ rating means there is low credit risk, but it is subject to economic conditions.

You people need to engage your brains. This is the arms race of our time, that’s why so much money is being thrown at it. Whoever gets to AGI and superintelligence first owns the future. The next step will be satellite power sources because it’s the only way we can keep up with China’s energy production capabilities. This is all happening whether we like it or not - it’s classic prisoners dilemma, there’s no incentive to slow down.
