@eloisegracey: Honestly so so easy to set up and I love it so much! He looks so comfy in it and he can see out the window with it being so big and bulky. LOVE #carseat #8months #ivfbaby #ivfmama #ivfsuccess
Where can I go for an in person car seat consultation with a specialist where they can check he’s safe and in right. I’m sick of always feeling like I’m not doing things right when to me I’ve done Exsctly what I’ve been told to do

My baby is 11 months and I took the wedge out of hers a while back, it’s what the manual says to do so I’ve done it, go off what your instinct is don’t listen to random people off TikTok 🙈

No hate, but you’ve had multiple comments telling you to do more research. You could have got an extended rear facing seat that’ll last till he’s 6/7. A shame you’re using your platform to promote products that aren’t the best in terms of safety!

guy worked with carseats for 10 years but does the first cardinal rule on these carseats, the wedge comes out LAST 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. smyths has zero training for carseats so do double check that its installed correctly too

His necks being pushed forward 😢 his airways will be restricted. Please return and get an extended rear facing seat. This will probably last until he’s about 3 and they should rear face until 5 or 6 considering Freddie’s little. So then you’d have to buy another seat and then a HBB xxxx

😬 smyths aren’t properly trained in car seat safety. They get about a 20 minute training session. This seat isn’t great and you have to take the inserts out way too early. Have a look at erf seats

This comment is in no way shape or form written maliciously. But you are shutting people down and commenting about car seat police when people are actually giving you really valuable advice, including some car seat consultants. It doesn’t matter how long the guy at smyths worked, if he’s giving you incorrect advice. You have been advised to post a picture of your LO in the car seat on car seat safety groups on Facebook many times, because people and consultants on their actually help and have really big knowledge. I’m part of one of the groups for over a year now and before then I knew absolutely nothing about car seats but reading posts every day you kind of start understanding things. So I understand some peoples frustrations when they are giving you good advice and telling you where you should go if you want to get help from someone who is an expert, and then you say that you’re gonna go to Halfords, who know even less and have been known to give horrible, horrible advice.

Joie is a good brand, just not long lasting for high centiles. The wedge is last to come out as this helps buckle placement. The buckle should be as low as possible and not high. If there was impact, the buckle could cause internal injuries if on the stomach.

Another vote for bump to booster they sorted my problems out within about a minute. My daughter’s head was flopping they gave a solution and it was sorted. Just because the inserts say they go up to a certain weight or height then need to be removed sometimes they need to stay in- my daughter is huge to the point she can’t be plotted in her red book but still requires her inserts nobody is shaming you or jumping on you as mums we want to keep everybody’s babies safe xx

That’s crazy, becuase we had ours fitted by Halfords and they also took the wedge out and said it’s for the newborn insert. I’m now worried that it shouldn’t have been removed….🥲

The thing with these seats is they aren’t good if your kids tall/weight heavier then the average kid… so the say they RF till 4 approx most joie seats but my sons had to get new at 2 so it depends how

I’ve had this seat 3 times and the wedge is the last insert to come out around 2yrs old for high centile babas. I used my 360 til all mine were 2.5/3yrs then changed to a axkid erf seat which they are still in at 5 & 6.5yrs.

My advice is to ignore everyone and follow your instincts. As long as the RULES are followed the rest is GUIDELINES and advise. You do what you think is best, your his mummy and your instincts will know, follow them🫶🏼 you are always going to get comments and judgement, im 3 kids in oldest being 11 and i still get it now🤍

Staff at places like Smyths and Halfords only have basic training. Baby needs both lower inserts (everything except the head hugger) until at least a couple years old. My niece still has them at 2.5yrs. They position the head to prevent headflop and position the spine and buckle safely to avoid spinal or tummy trauma.

If you’re doubting yourself just look through the car seat manual. It will tell you you exact weights to remove each insert and how you know if it’s fitted correctly xx
