Dental insurance is the most bass-ackwards system. Instead of having an out-of-pocket limit, they have an annual benefit limit, where they only pay so much per year and you're on the hook for everything beyond it. This is why I still have my problematic wisdom teeth and haven't been able to keep up with everything else in my mouth.

I don't know your dental history but that level of treatment is not common. Please get a second opinion from another dentist's office. When I was a dental assistant there was an office I declined a job offer because they were so high sales and gave commission when you would upsell treatment to patients. Sadly some dental offices do more than what is necessary.

schedule part of it before Jan 1st, then the other part after Jan. the insurance rolls over on the 1st. I've had to do this on more than one occasion

Honestly... Buy a plane ticket and come to Sweden (or any of the other Scandinavian/Nordic countries) and have it done here... Still gonna cost ya, but probably not 9000 at least 😏

Get a second opinion. It's much cheaper. Find an old-school dentist and not a chain because they will take every cent you have and your teeth along with it.

2nd opinion ! Dental nurse 16 years. With extensive periodontal cleaning the gum can tighten, if you lose the bottom 2 teeth the bone will recede more 👍
