@unknown_woodworking: Finally getting started on the hinges. I seem to use sliding rules whenever possible in my work. Using them allows me to lock them at a set measurement and because I literally have 20 of them I can leave it at that measurement for the duration of the project. This is an additional step I take as a hobbyist woodworker who attempts to minimize mistakes. Now if I sand off the mark or forget what I’m up to I at least have a physical reminder. Using a story stick is very similar I just usually don’t need a measurement in my work longer then the 15” sliding rule is capable of. With the layout marked out on both the case and the top it’s time to start inlaying the @brussohardware hinges. I did the layout with the top temporarily in place as it overhangs both sides about a quarter of an inch. #cabinetbuild #hingeinstall #woodworking #blanketchest #inprogress
