I lost my brother on Christmas Eve in 2010 and the grief never goes away. I saw someone recently compare grief to glitter. That at first it’s everywhere, and it’s so difficult to clean it up. When you think you do, you find shimmers of it months, even years, later. When it reappears, it might might make you cry or smile, but it stays with you, becoming part of your story, and it reminds you of a love that will always be there.
